Saturday 11 AM – 8 PM and Sunday 11 AM – 4 PM

Get active on a bike!

Cycling doesn’t have to be a solo adventure. At the Wagner Subaru Outdoor Experience we have cycling activities that encourage the whole family to get involved.

  • Demo road, hybrid and tandem bikes
Borrow a bike and take it for a quick spin on the Mad River Trail or Creek Side Trail, part of the 330+ miles of the Nation’s Largest Paved Trail Network.
  • Balance Bikes
Balance bikes have no pedals and are the perfect bike for teaching your toddler to ride today! Once your child can walk and stay balanced, she can learn to find her balance point on a bicycle. Balance bikes are a revolutionary approach to teaching children ages 2 – 6 how to learn to ride a bike without training wheels.
  • Try BMX bike on the Pumptrack
A pump track is a continuous circuit of rollers, berms and jumps. Pumptracks can be great fun for riders of all ability levels. Grab a BMX bike and ride the flow of the Pumptrack.
  • Be a kid again in the Wheelie Fun Zone
Take a spin on an adult-sized Big Wheel, scooter or tiny bike in the Wheelie Fun Zone. Race a friend or make a new one.
  • Bike Gear
Try all styles of bikes while learning from leading bike manufacturers, retail shops, race promoters and advocacy organizations from all over the country in the Bike Village.
  • Dayton Cycling Club Group Ride – Ride departs 1 PM Saturday
Ever wonder what a group ride is all about? When a ride is listed as A, B, C or D, what does that mean? Find out when you join the Dayton Cycling Club on a round-trip ride from Eastwood MetroPark on the Mad River Bikeway to Huffman MetroPark. The club will teach you group ride etiquette, how to interpret ride schedules, what to bring on a group ride and more! The Five Rivers MetroParks Volunteer Bike Patrol will sweep the group to make sure no one is left behind. This is a ride for all ages and abilities. To register for the ride, visit the main information central tent and complete a Risk and Release waiver, or download and fill one out to bring to the festival. Riders of all types are welcome, from novice to advanced, from young in age to young at heart and with anything from a racing bike to a beach cruiser. We hope all riders will join this fun, free bike ride. Helmets are required. Meet at 12:45 PM at the Dayton Cycling Club Booth in the Bike Village. Ride departs at 1 PM.
  • Bike for the Health of It Ride
Meet at Rip Rap Road and ride to Eastwood MetroPark and the Wagner Subaru Outdoor Experience. This 24-mile round trip ride along the Great Miami and Mad River trails will help you get primo event parking once you reach OutdoorX. The ride will take place rain or shine. Learn more about the ride.
  • Valet Bike Parking sponsored by the Dayton Cycling Club
Ride to the event on the Mad River Bikeway and get primo parking in the middle of the festival! Register your bike at the Dayton Cycling Club booth located in the Bike Village and club members will watch your bike for free during festival hours.
  • Bike Wash Station – courtesy of Popticals
Ride your bike to the event and not only do you get courtesy bike parking, but Popticals will wash your bike and give it a safety check for FREE! Popticals is a brand new sunglass technology that combines portability and performance, a great pairing for cyclists. The friendly Popticals staff not only knows a thing or two about bike washing, from days sponsoring cyclocross events, but also a lot about performance sunwear.  While your bike gets sparkly clean, ask for a demonstration of their new pop-out sunglasses design.
